WHAT IS SEAgnal?

SEAgnal® is IOSEA’s patented, software-defined location-sensing technology that fuses advanced digital signal processing, RF circuitry and antenna modeling, and system-level algorithms into a dynamic, adaptive model for wireless location finding.

 

This fusion-based approach continuously interprets both the hardware behavior of transceivers and the signal interactions within their surroundings, allowing the system to dynamically adjust its models and maintain accuracy even as conditions change.

 

Rather than chasing extreme precision alone, SEAgnal® focuses on delivering reliable and consistent accuracy to wireless systems—especially to technologies like Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), where unpredictable multipath and interference have long limited performance.

 

Operating across both connection and connectionless modes, SEAgnal® achieves update rates of up to 150 Hz, enabling smooth, real-time tracking of moving assets.

HOW SEAgnal WORKS

SEAgnal® is built on IOSEA’s proprietary digital signal-processing framework that unifies radio-frequency (RF) and antenna modeling with real-time positioning algorithms. At its core, SEAgnal® performs joint estimation of range and angle between transceivers through advanced digital signal processing (DSP) functions, estimation algorithms and hardware-assisted modeling.

 

This dual-domain approach that combines signal behavior in both the radiating and non-radiating components of a device, provides an unprecedented understanding of how every signal interacts with its environment.

 

This holistic modeling allows SEAgnal® to leverage the actual implemented hardware geometry and spatial configuration of the deployed devices, enabling a true end-to-end representation of the radio system. The result is a versatile and adaptive solution capable of maintaining reliable accuracy even across diverse environments and form factors.

 

The technology leverages patented methods including autonomous deployment and self-localization of stationary transceivers, and device-model-based estimation that enables each transceiver to serve as both a signal source and as an intelligent observer. These methods form the foundation for a self-organizing network that can discover, calibrate, and optimize itself in the field.

Through this combination of software-defined RF modeling, intelligent multiplexing of antenna frontends, and a scalable, service-oriented architecture, SEAgnal® transforms traditional RTLS into an end-to-end locationing platform.
